(Englewood, Colo.) \u2013\u00a0May 5, 2020 \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Saunders Construction, Inc<\/a>. announces HopeKids Colorado Chapter<\/a> as its 2020-2021 Building Confidence in Kids (BCiK) program partner. This two-year partnership will include fundraising and volunteer opportunities for Saunders employees to support the non-profit\u2019s mission of providing ongoing events and activities for families who have a child with a life-threatening medical condition.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe loved the fact that HopeKids offers ongoing support to their program participants,\u201d said Superintendent and BCiK Committee Lead Mike Iten. \u201cThey support these children and their families as long as the help is needed. HopeKids is making an impact on these families and we want to help bring support where we can.\u201d<\/p>\n

This program, launched in 2009, was designed to involve employees from all levels of the company while creating an outlet for volunteerism and community impact. The two-year partnerships have allowed Saunders employees to make real impacts while building strong relationships with our local nonprofit partners.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited about what this partnership will mean to our organization,\u201d said Howie Hutchinson, executive director of HopeKids Colorado.\u201cWith the support of Saunders and the BCiK program, we will be able to serve more Colorado families at a higher quality. The two-year partnership will allow us to build a foundation that will carry us into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

BCiK is an employee-led community initiative managed by nine employees. The committee will host over 20 volunteer events in 2020, including a Clay Shoot Fundraiser to help HopeKids Colorado reach their fundraising goals. Given the current climate of the coronavirus disease\u00a02019 (COVID-19) and Colorado\u2019s Safer at Home order, Saunders and HopeKids will move forward with virtual events to stay connected to the children and their families during this time.<\/p>\n

About HopeKids Colorado <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

HopeKids provides ongoing events and activities for families who have a child with a life-threatening medical condition, such as cancer. Each month, the organization schedules a variety of sporting events, live performances, museum visits or other types of fun activities for the whole family. HopeKids strives to keep kids focused on the future, rather than dwelling on what they are dealing with in the present. All events are focused on the whole family to prevent siblings from being unintentionally overlooked, bring families together that understand their journey, and are offered at no cost to families.<\/p>\n
