Colorado Health Foundation\u2019s Denver Office is First Building in the U.S. to Achieve both WELL and LEED v4 Gold Certifications<\/em><\/p>\n

(Centennial, Colo.) \u2013 June 14, 2018 \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Saunders Construction\u00a0along with the Colorado Health Foundation and Davis Partnership Architects<\/a>, is proud to announce that the Foundation\u2019s new office building in Denver\u2019s Uptown neighborhood has been awarded WELL Certification at the Gold level by the International WELL Building InstituteTM<\/sup><\/a> (IWBITM<\/sup>). The project has also achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) v4 Gold Certification by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). The building is the first project in the U.S. to achieve IWBI\u2019s WELL Building StandardTM<\/sup> at the Gold level and LEED v4 Gold certification, reflecting the Foundation\u2019s commitment to improve the health of all Coloradans, including employees and those who visit the building.<\/p>\n

Saunders is the region\u2019s leader in sustainable construction with 47 completed projects that have achieved LEED Certification \u2013 five of which achieved LEED Platinum, the highest level in certification program of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).<\/p>\n

\u201cFor this particular project, we knew we needed to build a structure that is sustainable, progressive and health-conscious,\u201d said Justin Cooper, Vice President of Project Development for Saunders Construction. \u201cBy partnering with The Colorado Health Foundation, we were able to align our shared vision of improving health for Coloradans to create a building that allows for movement, interaction and calming space for employees and visitors.\u201d<\/p>\n

The building, which broke ground in December 2015 and was completed in late 2016, is the first project in the U.S. to achieve International WELL Building Institute\u2019s (IWBI) WELL Building StandardTM<\/sup> at the Gold level and LEED v4 Gold certification. Saunders was responsible for ensuring that construction was completed in an efficient manner as to achieve LEED Gold Certification, while bearing in mind project budget, schedule, and scope.<\/p>\n

The three-story, 32,500-square-foot building features a \u201chealth-positive\u201d design and development standards that aim to improve the health of both staff and visitors who interact with the building space, including:<\/p>\n
